From Nanhai to the World: Nanhai Young Entrepreneurs Forge New Global Pathways Through Industrial Strength and Cultural Appeal

From Nanhai to the World: Nanhai Young Entrepreneurs Forge New Global Pathways Through Industrial Strength and Cultural Appeal From January 29 to February 8, the 9th Bangkok Design Week will be held in Bangkok, Thailand. As one of Southeast Asia’s most influential creative events, Bangkok Design Week has attracted over 1.75 million visitors since its launch in 2018, becoming a key platform for creative economy exchange and international cooperation in the region.

This year, the “Fascinating Bangkok – Art Empowers Enterprises [CHINA]” Nanhai Products Special Exhibition, jointly initiated by the Nanhai Youth Chamber of Commerce and RUi+ Digital Culture Innovation Alliance, made a prominent appearance at Bangkok Design Week. More than 50 enterprises from Nanhai participated collectively, showcasing China’s industrial innovation capacity and cultural creativity on the global stage. The exhibition also will mark an important stop of the “NANHAI GOING GLOBAL” organized by the Nanhai.

At present, cultural globalization has become an integral part of China’s strategy to build itself into a cultural powerhouse. With a more open and confident mindset, Chinese youth are stepping onto the world stage and emerging as new connectors between China and the global market. Selecting Bangkok as one of Nanhai’s overseas hubs reflects the district’s concrete efforts to advance high-level opening-up.

“This is not merely an exhibition, but an open, city-level ‘marketplace,’” said He Junwen, President of the Nanhai Youth Chamber of Commerce. “By bringing together resources from government, enterprises, research institutions, universities, and the media, the event serves as a key window to test whether products and cultural expressions can be understood, trusted, and translated into cooperation.” And Representatives from the Thai organizing committee (guest names to be confirmed) noted that “China’s integration of design and economic development provides a pragmatic and dynamic reference for the development of the Sino-Thai creative economy.”

The exhibition was structured around the core theme of “Production – Living – Ecology.”In the Production section, products such as Xin Yi Group’s Xiangyunsha silk lingerie and display technologies from Chaoye Technology demonstrated Nanhai manufacturing’s strengths in intelligent production and design transformation. Ruizhou Technology explored the industrial expression of cultural IP by integrating advanced manufacturing with traditional paper-cutting craftsmanship, an intangible cultural heritage practice.

The Living section transformed traditional cultural elements such as lion dance and dragon boat culture into contemporary cultural and lifestyle products through modern design. This section also featured interactive engagement with the Chinese designer toy IP GISMOW, creating a lively and immersive experience for visitors.Zhang Huanyi, Chief Planner of the project and General Manager of Guangdong RCHEN Public Relations Planning Co., Ltd., stated: “Cultural globalization with real vitality is not just about being seen, but about becoming part of everyday life.”

The Ecology section emphasized openness and collaboration. Through activities such as joint dragon boat paddle painting and intangible cultural heritage workshops, the exhibition connected Chinese and Thai universities, cultural institutions, and business associations, promoting sustained bilateral cultural exchange. Representatives from Thai universities remarked that the integration of culture and industry enabled them to gain a more vivid, comprehensive, and authentic understanding of Nanhai, China.

Leveraging overseas Chinese networks as bridges for communication, Nanhai simultaneously launched the “Global Hundred Associations Tour · Nanhai Young Entrepreneurs Gathering in Bangkok.” Delegations visited the Chinese Embassy in Thailand, research institutions, chambers of commerce, and Nanhai enterprises operating in Thailand, further advancing the alignment of culture and industry.

Through a pragmatic, open, and collaborative approach, Nanhai’s young entrepreneurs actively translated dialogue into concrete action. During Bangkok Design Week, multiple cooperation initiatives were advanced, including the establishment of lifestyle-based application scenarios jointly developed by Dream Home Furnishings and the Shenzhen Chamber of Commerce Association of Thailand, the provision of warehousing and logistics support for enterprises expanding overseas through the Guangfo International Electromechanical Hardware City Thailand Overseas Warehouse, as well as the official launch of a Sino-Thai industry–academia–research collaboration mechanism, laying a solid foundation for the international development of cultural globalization initiatives.

As Bangkok Design Week unfolds, this dialogue between China and the world is just beginning.
